1. Powder Physics & Flowability Optimization
In high-speed multi-lane VFFS stick pack machinery, powder behavior determines dosing accuracy and seal cleanliness. High-hygroscopic raw materials (such as berry extracts, magnesium salts, and amino acids) easily clump or develop static charge, leading to weight variation or powder dusting on the seal area—which causes seal failure.
Enova Science R&D scientists analyze every formulation using the Carr’s Index and Hausner Ratio to evaluate compressibility and flowability. By introducing specialized excipient matrices—such as silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, or natural organic rice concentrate—and applying fluid-bed granulation or agglomeration, we ensure uniform bulk density ($g/mL$) and seamless auger feeding.
2. Advanced Moisture & Oxygen Barrier Film Selection
The integrity of a single-serve stick pack relies heavily on its laminate film composition. Standard single-layer plastics are permeable to oxygen and moisture, which leads to active oxidation, loss of probiotic CFU count, or caking.
We utilize custom multi-layer structures, including PET / ALU / PE (Polyester / Aluminum Foil / Polyethylene) or high-barrier metallized PET / Met-PET / PE films. These substrates deliver exceptionally low Water Vapor Transmission Rates (WVTR < 0.05 $g/m^2/day$) and Oxygen Transmission Rates (OTR < 0.05 $cc/m^2/day$), protecting sensitive actives throughout a 24-month shelf life.
